NPRO Unit, St. Jame's Hospital, Dublin

Client
St. Jame's Hospital, Dublin

Description
This Tangram / Rhatigan Architects designed project is part of a wider strategy to facilitate the construction of the proposed new National Paediatric Hospital on the St. Jame's Hospital campus. This part of the development consists of a two storey temporary modular building, providing the main hospital canteen at ground level and administrative offices for the hospitals facilities management and capital project teams at first floor level. In addition a single storey modular building is to operate as an out-patient facility consisting of seven consultation and examination rooms plus support facilities.

Innovations & Added Value
The site constraints and operational needs of the hospital necessitated a well thought out decanting and mobilisation strategy. The hospital corridor was extended to form a covered link to other parts of the campus and the building was carefully articulated to ensure access for hospital service vehicles and ingress for external utilities and fire tenders.
